Default Now I understand why people blowup government buildings.

Filed income taxes WAY back in February. Dept. of (snicker) Education decided that a student loan my wife took care of YEARS ago when she was married to her first husband (who by the way died 9 years ago), was still owed on. They took every damn cent of my return. Filed the "Injured Spouse form 8379 in April, according to IRS, the form was received on April 3rd and wasn't even processed until May 21 and then some general flunkie "made a mistake" on my form and now I am being told that it will take at least 8 weeks before my return is released. PLUS the money that was taken by the Dept. of ****ing losers Education will be returned but not until sometime in July.
Got in touch with the "Taxpayer Advocacy" and I won't hear from them until MAYBE Monday by end of business. Ever been so ****ing mad that you just wanted to beat those responsible until their eyes popped out, push the eyes back in and beat them until their asshole prolapsed. Pushed the asshole back in and beat them until their genitals fell off, shoved the genitals in their ****ing throat and started all over? Well, you are getting close to how pissed I am right now.

Wait until you get audited. The first time I was in a panic. Once I found out just how stupid and incompetent the IRS was I, and still am, just plain pissed.

About 20 years ago, the IRS audited my law firm. They shut us down for a week. Ended up that they owed us $110.

The IRS claimed I owed them well over 10K. My accountant sent them the past 5 years of documentations in three massive file boxes with a 20+ page explanation of whats going on with the business and a check for around 300.00.

They accepted.

The second time I did not even read the letter. I just sent it to the accountant and he billed me for the battle. Both cases Plus one with THE state of MA cost me around 2k.

Military folks uses a credit card to pay for things while deployed. You file once every 30 days where ever you may be. Finance takes the form and pays you when they get around to it. Btw, the credit card bill is due in full often before Finance EBT's your $$$. If you're late on your payment for your credit card...oh, woe is unto you. Wonderful system someone came up with there. I also wonder which General is now on the Board of Directors.

That used to piss me off. Especially when the morons came up with DTS. I told the credit card dummies, when I get paid, you get paid. Worst system ever.... Even in the military, and now that I still do aircraft maintenance for the .gov, there are so many incompetent boobs to go around, it is mind boggling. I can't even fathom how bad other agencies are.....

It's an epidemic. .Gov incompetence. Always blew my mind that certain agencies get caught in their incompetence and blame their budget. Budget increases, no change in leadership and guess what ? No change in production.

When I was in Japan, DTS couldn't keep up with the number of trips my aircrew had. Then the changed the rules saying you couldn't claim ATM fees. Well, my guys were in some third world country doing emergency aid work, hotel wouldn't take credit cards, so they had to pull money from the ATM, at $5 a pop and because of the limit on the ATM had to do multiple withdrawals. They get back, think, "no problem, there's got to be a way to explain the reimbursement of ATM fees" in the system. Nope, the "automated" check kicked it every time and there was no person to talk to in order to fix the problem. So they had to claim the expense as something else. So bottom line, they had to falsify an official document to get the money the government legitimately owed them.

I feel your pain Terry!

A government contractor tried to underpay those of us working a Navy contract. We filed with the Dept of Labor. Took 5 yrs to get our owed money back. Then it took almost another year for the Navy to release that money to the DOL and a few months to get the DOL to mail out our checks! It took getting our Congress woman involved to get the funds released. We had to keep calling every couple of months to the DOL over the last 5 yrs to keep this moving.

Advice: If you don't keep hassling them, you get no where. You have to be a thorn in there side to let them know you are not going away until you get your money! But remain respectful and calm when talking to them.

I laugh, why? There's always a way around. Ya do what ya gotta do when the bureaucracy says no to an official IOU. Good for them.
