I've not been on much, but I posted a few weeks ago that I was involuntarily discharged from the Coast Guard

A month before christmas, with a 4 month old son, and I got my dd214. No job, no separation pay, and only 4 years until I would have been retirement eligible and a received a pension.

So **** the Coast Guard and the military in general.
I have been on unemployment since then, but yesterday I got a job offer from Northrop Grumman!
I stay here in Buffalo, and I'll get to keep doing Electronics work. I'm pretty excited.
Guess there's something to that whole door/window thing.

Well, at least you/wife/family get some sort of VA benefits.....if you need them, easier to do with your new job though....

ME, I"d be moving south....screw that -50f weather, snow high as mountains/etc....

Go check out the National Guard and see if there is a way to get the rest of your 20. It would be a real shame to leave it sitting on the table.

Great news. I grew up on Long Island and Grumman was the best place to work . My neighbor was a single digit badge holder. He started working there sweeping floors inthe 1930's and retired as a senior VP of research. They always took care of their people.

BTW the Melbourne FL location is booming as well.
