I had a guy call me this morning, wanted to drop off a rider for repairs. Said he'd be here around lunch...of course he never showed up...

So he rolls up around 4:30....parks, gets out of his truck..smoke rolling out from the RF wheel well...was a 2500 dodge ram.

I walk out to greet him, he tells me he just left another small engine shop, they told him they didnt work on mowers as old as his...and when he realized, at their shop 5 miles away, that his RF caliper was stuck ,they refused to look at it, told him to go elsewhere....no help..nothing.

I jacked it up, took the tire/rim off, yup..caliper stuck all to hell...I backed off the 2 big allen bolts, took loose the banjo fitting, and in 5 minutes it was off. I hopped in my truck and we went up to AZ, he got a new caliper...we came back, I put it on...5 minutes, bled...installed, tire installed....jack down...

He asked me what he owed me, I told him...10 minutes labor, gas...and let me be your repair shop....He handed me 50 bucks...awesome.

Then after he left, I found a Benji stuck in my tool box...

I dont know how businesses can afford to be such dicks to people, I mean..just a little damn consideration goes a long way with people. Everyone is a potential life long customer, and they remember things when others go out of their way to help...and its apt to pay off in the end.

Sometimes it is the little things that matter...


There use to be a lot of roadside barbeques at the end of the Cebu airport by the beach, there are so many to choose from and they are always trying to get you to park in their spot so you will buy their food.

I was so use to people overcharging, or trying to, (especially foreigners) that I always added everything up myself and never took anyone's word for it.

One time after eating at one place and we were leaving, the lady ran me down to give me a refund on a bottle of Coke that we did not open.

I was so impressed with her honesty, that I became her customer only every time we went there, and we started going every Saturday night from then on till they closed.

After the whole place had been fenced off and shut down by the City, I later found out that they had opened up at a new spot that was kinda far away, but we still made the trip every week for a few years till we moved to another island.

Hats off to you RED!

Yeah, got both his mowers done this morning...one, a wire had come off the carburetor, and the other, the previous owner had bent the tangs away fro mthe crank pulley to replace the belt..instead of doing the proper, and easier repair...dropping the pulley an inch...this made the belt toss off after few minutes. Fixed and fixed...
