I really don’t carry packages when climbing up into the truck. If I’m carrying a package I put it in the truck and that’s the somewhere it gets put down.

Cab floor = 28”
Tailgate = 38”

The Ford truck tailgate step is one of the best pickup truck innovations since the double wall bedsides.
I’ve had a few of them and they have been improved over the years. This latest version is totally hidden and smooth operation.

The GM tailgate is a little too much IMO. Has a lot going on but the actual step is not that great.

gm has bigger problems with the weight capacity of their tailgate cables.

F250 4x4.

The tailgate height is perfect to use as a workbench and I do almost daily.

The cab height is no big deal, my truck has the auto deploy step boards @ 14"

A friend stopped by and I measured the floor height and tailgate height of his new F150. Almost identical to my Ranger. So now, to be fair, you'll have to attempt to disparage anyone with an F150 that has steps.
