over the years due to my job, I met quite a few of the rockers. some were cool, some waaaaay far out. I am not a star struck kind of person, but for many I guess it would be cool. I look at these kinds of questions as what might be fun. That chick was smoking hot and still very decent I suspect. She seems to be nuts to some degree. Drunk and nekkid I bet she would be a hoot for a few hours. I would probably need out of there in five or six though, before I grew to hate on her.

My thoughts about meeting a musical artist or any celebrity is only in the case of those I feel have impacted me like Elvis has to many. I'd like to meet Barry Gibb to thank him for all the excellent music his family has put out. Same with Phil Collins, except it wasn't his family, just him.

My dad was a firefighter. Their credit union back In the day wasn't allowed to earn any profit. Somehow they used all the profits to essentially rent out a large Italian venue and bring in famous recording artists. Every year they would do this and give members free dinner, drinks and a show. I cannot name/remember all the acts I saw and met, but they were folks like Sinatra, Frankie Valley, Dean, and so on down the line my favorite was frankie V. I dont know why, he was just a cool cat. Years later, through travel companions and other means, I partied or hung out with people like Dave Matthews(before famous after playing in Killington of all places), Hootie(first album release party in myrtle beach), Henley, joe Walsh, and mick Jagger. I met and hung with Buffett in the keys in the nineties. To me, they were just people with much larger credit limits, lol. I know to some its really a big deal or cool and understand that. Probably my favorite was recently John Waite because it was a tiny venue and he did stuff from the babies on through before just hanging out. Really cool dude I thought, seemed very genuine and grateful for his fans and his long career.

As time has gone on I realize that most celebrities are pretty horrible people by the time they reach the upper tier of fame. I would have liked to know some of them before they became insanely famous though. And just meeting someone briefly is sorta anti-climatic really. I talked to Robert Plant once for like 2 seconds. I met Steve Gaines of Lynyrd Skynyrd fame not long before he died, probably said two sentences to him in my neighbor's driveway when I was 16 years old. Both were memorable to some extent but definitely not "great".
