GWiz started driving my Z06 when she was 11, stick shift and all. Started competing in my coupe when she was 14.

My oldest son drove a C5 through high school and his first year of college. Does fine...no issues. He gets an Infiniti Q50, and flips shit. He turned it into scrap metal.

No kids here but if we had, sure. We would have raised level headed, responsible members of society. Just like in Lake Woebegone.

My oldest son, 28, doesn't have a license, but I would let him drive my Corvette if I had one. My youngest son is 15. I don't believe he is responsible enough to let him drive a Corvette.

When I had my 98 Vert my youngest was in high school. He did most of the washing and detailing on it. I would always let him drive it to the car wash with the wands and wash it there. (he was good enough detailing that he worked PT for a detailing shop) So he got to dive my stick shift Vette at 17.

He confided in me that a girl he was chasing would put out if she got a nice ride in a Vette and could he take her for a little cruise. I said yes as I know how my kid drove. I'm a more spirited and aggressive driver than he was and if anything would be easier on the car that I was. I at one time was a very serious street racer.

He still on occasion details my car and enjoys a nice drive around the lake.

Got tired of him wanting to drive my C5, so we got him a C4 when he was a senior in high school. My older one does not care.

Took my cousins new C4 to 125 and was banned from driving it.. I was barely 16.
Drove a highly modified Camaro nd Trans Am from 16. Parents never even winced at me taking their new cars out.
My kid can drive whatever he likes as long as he knows he's fixing whatever he breaks.

I have a grandson who I let drive my C6 15 years ago. He was 17. I have another grandson who is almost 21 and has absolutely no interest in ever getting a driver's license.

I let my son drive my '76 back in the early 90s.

He got a speeding ticket.
Never wanted to drive it again.

I offered to give him my '85 a few years ago.
He said no thanks.

Late 60s. My stepdaughter had that grandson when she was 16 years old. That was before I met my wife. I have no biological children. That stepdaughter was born when I was a Senior in high school, so technically I'm old enough to have a grandson that old, but really I just married into this whole family situation 25 years ago. Both of my stepchildren were grown adults not living with their mom anymore when I met my wife.

What's even stranger is I have four step-great grandchildren.
