Just a piece of friendly advice.

Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Continue to look diligently in the event this doesn't go as planned. You don't want to miss out on a potential opportunity because you were waiting for the phone to ring. We had a job posting up and took it down after 3 days due to the response we got (174 resumes received). See what i am saying?? Stay active.

Appreciate the advice, and I get it. I have another interview Monday morning and have applied to a few other positions today already. I'll stop applying when I get a job

Update time:

I was given 'homework' to do as the last part of my evaluation for the position. Finished it, getting some other eyes on it and will submit it tomorrow. Meanwhile, Mandy had an interview today and it went GREAT. Firstly, the interview went 90 minutes!! and then following that they took her to view some of their properties (construction job). And the end of the interview she asked when they might make a decision and they said monday afternoon, IF that wasn't too long to wait. Ha. Plus the two owners came in on a Saturday to interview her. I think it's in the bag!!


My interview on Monday is at 11am, I'll kill it too () and then just play the waiting game! Thanks for all the support!!

Well the Monday interview was less than awesome. I arrived 10 minutes early for my 11:00 interview and waited until 11:30 for them to come get me. I received a curt 'sorry for the delay' that did not feel sincere. Did my best to push back the pisstivity I was feeling to rock the interview. Start the interview and there is a weird air to the room, could only describe it as pretentious and it got worse. They were all on their phones the entire time and were not paying attention. I had to answer the same question twice because one person was not listening. And it wasn't to see if I would say something a different way it was a 'tell me about this award you received'. Umm, I just did that 2 minutes ago. Just an overall frustrating experience.

On the plus side, Mandy's job prospects continue to look promising. The company she interviewed with is re-writing the job based on her experience. She should know something tomorrow.

Completely agree Julian, I'm not done persisting! It's just very frustrating to be disrespected for a job I am over-qualified for. I haven't lost faith, just ready for the next chapter.

Problem is that due to the state of the economy there are tons of people in need of work and although you are overqualified the guy they hired may have been even MORE overqualified.
