It is quite a day. I have never known a different ruler of the UK. Born 2 weeks after she became the Queen. It’s the passing of an era. No matter what you personally think of the royals, she was iconic. Great Britain has suffered a loss today.
Her son , now King, has never proven himself up to taking over.

I can agree with this. Iconic. Well liked by actual British people. Actually worked in the WWII war effort as a mechanic and ambulance driver, vs. fleeing to safety. I respect that.

Nobody in the newer generations have a clue, nor are they taught, about the devastations and herosim in the World Wars - ore even the civil war. I have my issues about monarchs being designated by heredity, but then I look at American's leadership and think maybe its not so bad.

It's amazing to see how all the kids coming through the doors of the college these days think the civil war was fought solely over slavery when it was actually about states' rights. Sadly, I think hisotry is about to repeat itself because the federal government is trying to turn the states and citizens into its slaves.
