It's not in the condition of #7 but it will undoubtedly be scarred from the particles coming off the #7 bearing. Those particles have most likely made their way all through all the rods & mains. The pieces fall off the bad bearing into the pan, the sump picks them up and if they are small enough they will go through the pump and back into the other bearings. You will find that since the oil comes from the pump to the rear main, then on to 7-8 rods, the next main etc etc. the damage will be less toward the front of the engine. But, it only takes one bad journal to ruin the entire crank.

It's done, stick a fork in it.

You just had the heads refurbished, correct? If so, a short block is another option.

I realize that other engine you asked about was a 2 hr. drive but if you can get it for the right money it would be worth the trip. If you're in no rush to get it together just take some time & give it all a good cleaning & detailing and make the engine bay look nice, while you're doing that keep searching for a good engine.

That crank is 100% trash. You could save the block and get a crank kit but I wouldn't bother. Throw a used small block in it.

Oh man- guess the valve train knock was death rattle. Sometimes fixing up the top end on an old engine will be too much for a tired lower end.

get a short block and reuse the heads and new carb you are set up with.

That's my plan...
Btw, what causes the bearing to do that?

Old age/ mileage.

If it happened on a newer engine, then you stretched the rod bolts by revving to 8 grand a couple of times too many and egg shaped the rod cap.

If it makes you feel any better, I bought a 75 Stingray that the owner said, "started smoking, stalled and won't restart".
I bought it with the understanding that it would need a motor. It cranked, but sounded like it had no compression, it made that odd whining sound a motor makes with no spark plugs.

I drained the oil and 3 gallons of antifreeze came out.
I pulled the heads and saw this.

Porblem...

Dropped the pan and found a bucket full o' surprises.

Custom cam!

Multiple broken rods.

I bought a used Goodwrench crate motor out of my friend's plow truck.

Degreased it, and then a can of black engine paint.

Budget swaparoo.

Believe it or not, a lean situation can cause a bearing to spin like that but I am leaning towards the "crimped fuel line to drop pressure" wizardry of the previous owner. Too much gas getting past the rings & into the oil, diluting it. Or, if he crimped it too much, the lean situation I mentioned first.
