I found a place (American Engine and Grinding) that will bore and hone my engine, and clean/hot tank the block and heads, and redeck the block for about $350
if i went this route, besides the obvious new crank, bearings, connecting rod, and rigs, cam, what else on my engine is probably not good? Granted, it maybe cheaper and quicker to do a used engine, but I can re-build my engine a step at a time, as funds become available. |

Save funds. Buy a used engine and swap.

If you want to go that route, I think you'd be money ahead buying something like this.
ATK High Performance Chevy 350 Street Performer Short Blocks SP01 - SummitRacing.com I'm sure, if you shop around, you can probably find something in the $900 range. Sure, you might be able to do it a little cheaper yourself, but it's pretty easy to make catastrophic mistakes assembling a short block. |
