I realize that it's a good idea to insurance shop every few years, and I've had Geico for around 8 I suppose. USAA pissed me off several years ago, so I concluded they didn't need my brand of money for a while. I added my eldest son's Infiniti after getting a quoted for Geico for another 120 bux a month. Ok, cool.

Flash forward to yesterday, and turns out Geico was gonna burn me a new one. A month's premium has been running me $483. So without adding anything and dropping the Mustang off at $58 dollars a month, the premium before adding the new car should be 425. Ok, add $120 a month on $425 would be $545. No problem I say. But no matter how they added it up, they kept coming up with a total bill of $671. And I'm sorry, but there is no damn way that my math is that far off. I told them that I would most likely be leaving Geico, even after all theses years, because hell, they didn't lube me up, give me any foreplay...just nothing. With all the cars, USAA has me very close to what I was paying with the Mustang on there. I'm sure me leaving them won't make a spit of difference to them, but my wallet will feel better. So long Geico.....

Man, I was a HUGE USAA believer until my wife (on usaa insurance) was t-boned by a prick also with USAA insurance. Should be easy to settle no? Yeah no, every time my wife called her call went to a pit where she had to explain the whole situation again, then came the offer for her totaled car, where the take a 20% haircut off the valuation to simulate a trade in. We had to hire an independent appraiser and threaten litigation to get them to correct the valuation, then there was the medical bills, it took over 16 months to get those paid.

Once settled we dropped USAA insurance and will never consider them again, might as well get the best rate if I’m getting basement level service. We’re currently happy with Amica Insurance.

There is fierce competition on TV with all the insurance companies going at it. I've seen:
Geico
USAA
Liberty
The General
Mercury
Progressive
Allstate
Farmers
I'm sure I missed a few. The one I can't stand is Progressive. The only commercials that are decent are the ones from Farmers. All the other ones suck.

My wife and I have been with AAA here in CA for over 25 years with zero issues.

Progressive lines the pockets of George Soros. They are not even a consideration. It is all a racket anyway.

The GAP insurance is supposed to take care of the 20% haircut. I'm currently with Amica, but am thinking of switching. By adding the 'Mero, and replacing the Grand Cherokee with a RAM 1500, my premiums doubled.

I've been with Allstate ever since I moved into my new home, 36 years ago.
Just bought a new Ford in May, my insurance for that went up 50% (replace
an '11 Escape with an Edge).

Now, I get numerous discounts by bundling Home, Auto, and Motorcycle,
but they're all going ridiculously high $$ in the last 5 years or so.
Freaking commercials are expensive to produce. I guess someone has to
pay for them.
I'm quite satisfied with their service, but I'm starting to think
I may be doing some shopping soon.

I thought gap covered if you owed more than it was worth. We owned the car outright.

I'm with geico, they've been good handling 2 accidents (neither my fault) in the last couple of years. Progressive was good too, but they got pricey.

I have a speeding ticket that is about to come off my record, I'll start shopping once that's history.

My wife takes care of all the insurances minus the 5.0, I do that separate. Insured through the NCM for around $425.00 per year. (Limited Mileage)
