And I like Tony Stewart, who is absolutely one of the best drivers to wheel any damn thing. Hell, I have good friends in Vegas, so nothing on them, but just dammit. Of course here in the south, pulling for EJ...

Too much advertising not enough racing. The new format seems tailor made to allow NASCAR to get at least 20 more commercials into every race. This might have been the ONLY race this 40 plus year fan watches this year.

Could be, the 5 minutes to fix and no going to the garage really sucks. Sure those cars aren't always competitive once they return but to say if you go to the garage you're done is BS

Well, if you go to the garage, you don't have a chance for anything except getting into everyone's way once you come back. I think it's NASCAR's way of tempering the drivers-knowing if they F up too much they will have a DNF for the race.

Not that it helped yesterday.

I was switching back and forth between the 500 and the Honda Classic (golf) and missed the McMurray incident. He's from Joplin, was curious how it happened. Sounds like it was his fault. Guess I'll try to find some video of it.

Normally that is the case, but then there are the transmission replacements etc where the car is still very competitive, just down 10+ laps, the more cars that fall out after that move that driver up. Then there is also the scenario where a bumper or fender is tore up and now they can only patch it up on pit road and meet minimum speed. If the could go to the garage, they could fix it a lot better and not be a hazard.

I'm expecting one of the races soon to have less than 10 cars running at the end as a result. Yesterday was close, I guess we'll see what talladega brings
