I know you know your way around cars.

They actually make 2 kinds of Marine battery's. One a heavy duty version of a regular car battery. Heavy duty because of all the bouncing a boat does. The other Marine type battery is a deep discharge one that is designed to be pulled way down and then take a recharge without running into your normal dead battery problems when you run it down too far.

Good luck!

YEH, my skeleton can't take much high speed boat bouncing, I always sat in the back and let the rest of the guyz up front take the beating......
Me thinks that 76 buck battinator is the way to go......

BUT still, today engine starts fine...today sort of a test run.....so confusion reigns supreme.....grrrrrrrr.......

My 3-year-old Interstate battery from Costco died on my wife the other day - she had to call AAA and get it jumped. The tow truck guy tested the starter, the charging system, and the battery and all tested normal. When she got home I put the battery on a tender and charged it fully. Waiting to see what happens...

The good thing is when you buy from Costco it comes with a 42-month warranty.

Johnson Controls was the key US maker and may still be the only US maker of batteries. They would slap a different sticker on the same battery - NAPA, WALMART, Sears, etc...for a long time.
