Oh I've seen that sort of .22lr all along. I'm talking about no bulk boxes (550 count or whatever) for a semi decent price. Used to get a 550 count box for about $14 or so. They were selling the 50 count .22lr for $9.99 the other day, it must have been really special.

Finding .22LR ammo at any of the local wallyworlds in my area of the peoples republic of NY (5 places all at least a 20 mile drive) is harder than finding the lost city of Atlantis. The local vultures hang around and wait for it to be delivered and then get as much as they can. Then these kocksuckers repackage it in 50 round increments in plastic bags and sell it at a large profit!

With that said I did find at a decent price I might add, some .45Colt ammo. I use it both in my carbine and S&W revolver.

But it's not true. Federal said the biggest demand by far is private sales and that demand has skyrocketed. The issue is that it is very expensive to expand capacity and the mfgs were worried it was a bubble. Now they are expanding but it takes almost a year to get a new facility on-line.

but it's being downplayed by some. Private demand is at an all time high - and it's because of the socialist we have in the top office right now. If it makes some feel better by claiming is not really due to the dislike of our current president... then hey - do what you need to.

Federal agencies have purchased a lot of certain calibers though - making inventories thin on these specific ones.

I haven't seen the total numbers, just the unprecedented buildup of the .fed handgun rounds. I figured that was enough to trigger (pun intended) the shortages by itself.

But it doesn't impact domestic ammo production. 100% of lead used in ammo is recycled. The lead produced by primary smelters is much higher purity and quality used for electronics production.

Still idiotic move by the Traitor in Chief.

Years ago I got a case (5000 rnds) of 22 target velocity for $110.

Still have some left.
