I didn't see her whelp any of the pups so I can't say. Typically, you wanna be there to help. Especially with a big dog like a Dane. One misstep or roll and she could injure a whelp. Why risk it?

Breech Whelps are not uncommon and often a little help will go a long way. Some Dams will have no part in you sticking your face in there, but most are perfectly OK with it.
