We talked about this incident yesterday at work. One of our employees lives in Blanchard. It's about 25 miles from where I live and grew up. I've been to that town many times.

What I hate to hear about the story is the police didn't show up in the 21 minutes she was on the phone. I'm not saying it's the fault of the police, it's just a sad fact.

I agree 21 minutes is unacceptable but I don't know if it was weather related or is it a Sheriff dept or a city Dept. How many police are working the shift Etc. In my city on an emergency call we can be to any location W/I 2 to 3 minutes and the city is about 48 Sq miles.

I don't know Blanchard, OK myself, but it's possible that her home was some ways from a population center. There are big empty spaces out there.
