Marcus had nothing to do with this either -- Chad approached me with this idea this morning...I had given it some thought earlier as well, so I went ahead and started a thread.

Marcus found out about this AFTER it was posted on the forum.

I wish I could buy him the set, but after being off work for nearly 2 months on medical leave, just can't do it. I will donate $100 for the cause.

There is no rush. Since the remainder of the season is 6 races, if you miss a few, yet come up with the tires, you can run at least 6 events.

The way I view this, if I can groom someone to compete at the national level, and win in my car, as car owner, the tires go to the car. Marcus is built like a race car driver, I am not. Given his youth, it's inevitable that he could eventually surpass my skills. It would bring me joy to make someone that good.

As a large individual, who barely fits in the car, and has a very bad right shoulder, I know my limitations. Marcus has the potential to be great, given the right instruction, and in an extremely competitive car.
