When you put them on for the first time, save a few of the chips in a container from the first cuts. If you look at them under a magnifier, you will see nice sharp cut edges.

As they start to dull, it will be more of a tear than a cut. ( in machining metal, the cutter sounds different as the edge wears and isn't as sharp ) You might be able to feel the difference on the wood itself. Dull cutters transfer more heat to the part. Not sure if that carries over into the wood working field.
I don't use a lot of hardwoods.
Most of the material I cut is a soft wood with a gesso coating.
THe gesso can be anywhere from 1/16" thick up to 3-4".
The gesso is what makes the desing on the moulding.
It's kinda like plaster and is hell on the blades.

They get a 5X magnifier and look at your cutting edges. As they lose the sharp edge ( before they round off ), get them sharpened.

Good thing you have two sets of blades

Just want to give Jeff a thumbs up for helping me out with the blades.
I received them today about an hour ago and they are a thing of beauty.

Thanks buddy!

A guy on my street works for the Moog Aircraft Division, as a machinist. He is my go to guy for anything metal..... I find it amazing how you guys use micrometers and make things to such tight tolerances...
Kudos to Jeffro for helping Kingpin....

These are the 14" blades on the saw.

Cut like butter.

Especially with all the dust collector hoses I have jury rigged up to it.
It doesn't look pretty but at least 999% of the dust is being sucked up now.
