Here's how you explain it:

Young padawons, a superconductor works by a quantum effect that traps lines of flux in narrow tubes, which are then trapped by the superconductor because atoms in the region of the trapped tubes all assume the same quantum state.

And if you ask me one damn question about this very simple and straightforward effect, I will flunk you.
