How skittish is he? Any chance he would let you take a closer look at that leg? There definitely seems to be something wrong there, like he might have even lost a part of it.

We had a family of four (2 adults & 2 pups) on our property last year. They help taking care of rodents.

During the colder months there are about 20 deer that run by my office window in the morning. There was a mother deer with three fawns that I'd always take notice of. One day one of the fawns was hobbling on three legs, it's right rear leg appeared to be lame or broken. It was sad because they'd all take off and it would just struggle to keep the herd in sight. Saw that same deer a few weeks ago and it was getting along better, putting some weight on it, so maybe it will survive. I'm such a softy when it comes to animals, my wife too.

Can a fox be domesticated? Not the Megan kind, the more tame ones.

Domesticated? I don't know. I used to belong to a public golf course that was lousy with foxes. They weren't particularly afraid of humans, and it was common to see a few at the edge of the woods watching us tee off on the 15th hole if you got there right at dusk. They never came close to me or the folks I was playing with, but I heard story that they would approach humans if they were injured or starving and looking for help.

I've had several on my property. Never any problems with them and they usually raise a litter. That one looks healthy and hopefully adapted to his loss of limb.
