Default OBD1 scanner power......

As some of yawl may know, my OBD1 scanner readout blacked out, and so I tried to fix it.but no go.....SO, trying a new scanner from a store here, I found it has no power supplied to the jack on the car/computer and the old scanner had a separate power wire for it....but the new scanners pull power from the car computer jack directly....the schematics I have for the 1227730 computer do not show any power wiring for the scanner.....SO what is the proper position/pin to use to run the hand held modern scanners??

Have you tried contacting tech support for your scanner?

I returned it last week or more.....dunno, thing is, no screen to tell me, just some code or other for me to look up on a small print 4x6 size 1/2 inch thick manual......PITA.....BTW changed plug #6 that was blowing off the wire...and sure enuff, black as coal on the tip.....engine seems to like the old plug in that spot....not necessarily the one that came outta that spot, but it looked fairly clean......

I drove the '72 vette to Jax from DC region....in '97 with DPFI on it....L98, later changed to modified LT1 with HEI up top in back where it belongs....never did any changes to LS series engines.....and starting to regret not doing it....
