Default China made AC Delco plugs......

to fit a L98 aluminum head engine early LT1 even.....

So I got some new ones on general principals, when redoing my engine,.....several posts about various ASSpects of this PITA project.....

and so engine runs rougher than hell, seems to fire all 8 BUT very unstable suck readings around 17.5 or so, but needle varies a good bit.....plus-minus about 2-3 lbs....at idle.....

here is the crazy part....one plug in particular had a habit of popping off the plug wire......#6 and so an obvious dead miss.....so I cured that habit, by holding the cap in place no matter what.....

engine still runs raggedy......

SO, are China made Delco plugs worth a shit??

Yeh, but I went with the '87 vette L98 engine adjustment sequence in the GM vette manual.....had it since my '87 vette daze yet......set engine at #1 TDC and adjust valves called out on driver and pass. bank.....set engine at #6 TDC and do the other valves....done, supposedly.......

watts the matter with that???

I HOPE so, done short block by machine shop, new chain/etc.....I did the heads install while in the car....a couple of friends helped with the SB install, and starter motor....due to me not thinking to do SM install when on the stand....

and MY engine stand stuck in corner behind much other junk in the shed....I could not even SEE it....so borrowed another stand.....

You keep saying this, BUT you don't have a production motor, you have a hybrid of sorts that has been machined with different tolerances, ie: not factory
Do what DJ recommended and get this saga over with

Talking to an old hotrodder buddy this evening....he said to pull the accessories and hell with the water pump drive, cold engine in AM, and adjust one bank of valves before engine even warms up much, can't get valve covers off without taking serp drive off.....pisses me OFF no end.....still have that issue with a seemingly solid plug cap on #6 that is keeps popping off.....and being China made plugs......I think to reinstall the old plugs I saved, and see watt happens....first......
