My one husky had seizures very badly when yr and half old or there abouts, he grew out of them mostly. Vet called late that night when we took him in and said they maxed out on meds(valium i believe) and he'd stop having them or not survive. He lived... Came home high as a kite man, I mean he was totally basted stoned out of his gourd. I had to leave for business day after he came home. Called home when i got there and he was howling in background... Coming down off his high, wouldn't stop. Mind you we had a 2 month old baby and the wife wasn't happy(i knew right then my life expectancy went down by years). The vet didn't send him home with meds to wean him down. She felt so bad she kept him for close to a week at her house until he came down off his high at no cost. He was on pheno and another one and still was a crackhead for weeks. Had to call relatives in to help since i was gone for a month.
He lived a good long life after all the bad stuff early so don't fret Slo it got better. Usually a large swing in barometer could trigger one so he got down to only getting meds then even.

Sorry to hear this. Seizures are so hard to watch. It’s a helpless feeling.

Sorry if I missed it… Have they made any suggestions about taking him to a vet that specializes in neurology? Might help with a root cause.

Here’s to hoping he gets some relief with the phenobarbital.

Yes, problem is an MRI is 3 grand, I can't currently go for that. I am hopeful that the meds will work out, seems to be pretty common.

I was going tto take mine to the nc state vet school until I asked about the costs... Think it was 2500 to get in the door.
