It’s one of his better mumblings. As far as I could tell, he didn’t drool. However, he’s talking about everything except the issue that everyone wants to know: Why is this such a shit show? What was the drawdown plan and what were the contingencies if it went sideways? There were contingencies, right? What idiot thought it was a great idea to have only one runway in an urban airport to evac thousands of people, when before we had at least a defendable robust airfield at Bagram before we turned it ver to the worthless Afghan military? Yadda. Yadda. Yadda.

I'm not so sure that there are any good people there. If you give no shits beyond your little tribe how good are you? These people are over at the next tribe, porking their goats whenever they think they can get away with it. If you only care about the 20 people in your tribe (remember women don't count except to cook & put out) then I think you deserve whatever you get. I'm starting to agree with those that think letting all the Taliban get there and then turning the whole filthy country into a smooth glass surface.

While it pains me - greatly - to say this I gotta agree with the resident loony liberal. Afghanistan is a shithole and has been a shithole for centuries. People have been fighting there for centuries and there's no reason for them to stop now. Russia couldn't build a civilized country there and we thought we could. We've lost nearly 2,500 American troops for absolutely nothing. We're not the world's police force. We should have either gone in and eliminated the Taliban 20 years ago or not gone in at all. As soon as our troops left the Afghan Army turned tail and ran, and the politicians left the country.

Unfortunately politicians run wars now and the American people have no stomach for what it takes to actually win a war. That's been the case since Vietnam. Let the military run - and win - wars, not politicians.

I couldn't and never did give a **** about the people there. All I cared about was my unit and me coming back alive. Not all did and that's what pisses me off. Wives, husbands, children, brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, etc... lost their loved ones or had serious hardships added to their families only to have all progress thrown away. We were there for absolutely nothing, now.

Bush should have never started OIF. The obidiot had no business dictating military policy. Trump was doing a much better job, then Biden stumbles along and gives it all up. We should have been mining every diamond out of those mountains that we could find while we were there.
