Yup. Ingredients, curly maple, walnut, sapele, and cherry.

Nice looking board by the misses!

Sapele is a beautiful wood and what they built my speakers with.

I've got almost 60 lbs of Wenge I'd throw at you but it would be cost prohibitive to ship.
One milled board is 3" x 6" and 10' long.
Beautiful stuff that I used to trim out my theater bar with.

The poor mans Ebony but the way it framed out the Leopardwood was incredible. Wish I had better shots of it but I ride the photography short bus.

my sister has some flavored salts in test tube type containers, and wanted a way to hold and display them. she called me. some back and forth, and i made this out of a chunk of wenge (very hard wood, the drill bit was smoking when i got done).

i also made the little holders for the salt and pepper grinders out of some mahogany.

Nice work as usual Doug! I'd guess you used a very light stain if any at all. Very hard to not mask the grains as it's a low contrast wood.

First thing the guy at the mill told me is "do NOT get a splinter from that Wenge" and after the first pass with the router I decided to wipe the dust with my bare hand and picked one up from the bottom of the board.

Stuff goes in like steel and is hard to get out in one piece. Dense wood but poor tensile strength.

no finish at all on the Wenge.

i too later read that it is very poisonous. one splinter can cause a nasty infection. don't do it! very splintery.

I have been making some edge grain cutting boards here recently as well. The one she is working on looks great!

DAB, as usual....you still reign as the VB craftsman!

Scott...Envious of your crib!
