Default Lowering The Medicare Age From 65 to 60

I'd vote for Biden just for that statement alone.
People with lifetime medical benes have no idea of the drain medical benefits are on even a comfortable retirement.
I think that is the best statement that came out of the DNC last night.

OK, I understand, you want me to pay even more in taxes so healthcare is cheaper for you. Noted.

The money that you saved in the 60 to 65 years would waayy more than pay for the extra taxes that you may have paid.

Maybe we should just make the retirement age 18 and everyone can live off of the government.

I waited until I was 65 to switch over to Medicare, and I'm still paying into
it because I'm still working.

Everyone else can wait until they're 65, just like I did.

Freaking politicians of all affiliations handing out $$$ like there's an unlimited supply.

Except for those already 65 when, and if, it is lowered.

This statement is provably false. If it was true, you could use any arbitrary number you wish and it would still work. If lowering from 65 to 60 saves you money, then lowering it from 65 to 55 would save you even more money. And so on. Except that the "money you save" has to come from somewhere, and that is people who are paying into the program from age 18 to 55. They would have to pay more, of course, and over a longer period of time - which means that they lose the future value of that money forever.

Also programs like Medicaid have huge amounts of bureaucratic overhead. Increasing the number of "customers" increases this overhead at least proportionately, which further increases costs, which means that the small pool of taxpayers have to pay even higher taxes, etc.

And last, if you're a democrat you are largely exempt from any rules or laws so what are you even worried about Jeff?

Kasich, McCain, Romney, Bush, Bush, Bush are/were globalists.

The left infiltrated our party with these "moderates". Horseshit. Moderates my ass.

Just the opposite, raise it to 67/70 because folks live much longer than they used to......

I disagree with Medicare being lower to 65. Instead it should be raised along with the drawing of SS benefits. These laws were passed many years ago and since that time the life of people has been extended. No adjustments were ever made for this fact.

When SS benefits were passed in the 30's it was a widow /orphan fund and IF you reached a certain age you could draw from it BUT at that period the odds were against you to reach that age.

Full disclosure, I draw full SS benefis (waited to 70 to collect), have Medicare and a supplemental retirement health insurance plan paid by my ex-employer for life. I am also enrolled in the Veterans Administration Health Care plan.

Also, unlike the heathens in this forum, I lead a clean cut Christian life.

I'm just looking to not pay for health benes asap.
