Wishing you the best for a quick & full recovery, OP. I'm watching with interest, as I know it's just a matter of time before I'll likely need both knees done. Ortho doc says I'm a candidate now, but I'm basically afraid. I have an acquaintance who had a replacement, and the whole thing went south over the course of the following year. I keep hoping someone will come up with a better solution. Who knows.

Go to the pain threshold and back off. Rinse & repeat.
The results are instant, believe it or not.
If you are into the "pain" aspect, you've gone too far. Yes, you go into the discomfort zone but not to pain.

( we might be in complete agreement on how far to go but I have a high tolerance to pain and to get into that "zone" sets me back on PT )

I dunno man.
Today, the therapist pushed my leg flat to to the point of pain.
He also bent it to the point of pain and wanted more.
I have to trust that they know what they're doing.
I am hurting after today's session.
No pain, no gain, apparently.
Damage and pain are two different things, and I guess pain is part of the plan.

Glued incisions are becoming more commonplace the last 2 surgeries I had, my incisions were all glued. The reasoning given was that patients heal faster from glued incisions.

Unfortunately that height/weight combo is not that person's friend and most likely a big part of why that surgery was needed, a lot of stress on that joint.

If you'll let me take a whack at it, I'll see what I can come up with.

Half price, since it'll be an experimental surgery.

Imagine a needle sticking out the side draining 80cc's of blood out of it so that it wouldn't leak anymore.

I just told the doc, ok, go for it.
I laid back, closed my eyes, put my head in my hands, and took my medicine.
I despise needles and do not watch. Including blood draws.

My grandson had to have a screw removed from his ankle after it had healed from an injury. It was done in the doctor's office. He (my grandson) took video of it and posted it on YouTube.

It was six weeks after I tore my ACL in half until my reconstructive surgery ( patella graft ). Two or three times a week I went to the doctor's office to have my knee drained. Anywhere from 50 cc to 100 cc of fluid each time. ( it was the greater amount right after the injury and tapered off to 50 cc before surgery )

I actually looked forward to the huge "horse needles" due to the tremendous pain relief from having the fluid removed.

I didn't know that, although, I do remember when you had your surgery.
It was instant relief for sure.

Yes, it was a big leaker for a while. My left knee would get so swollen I could only get 15 or 20 degrees movement. After draining, full movement was back.

I was doing PT three times a weeks for about 2-1/2 hours each day to strengthen the surrounding muscles to help after surgery. I wore a brace all the time except in the shower.

The knee is still going good too.
