Interesting in that FISA warrants aren't what is in question here. It's the 702 "about queries" that were used by FBI contractors to query the NSA database essentially any time they wanted. For years. Illegal as hell when used to query American citizen's information. They then took the information generated from those FISA-702 queries, patched them together, laundered that data through Fusion GPS and Chris Steele, then took that to the FISA court to get legal permission to surveil Trump and his campaign team. It's why the dossier has false information, because they would type in a name of a Trump campaign staffer like "Bob Smith Travel" for instance, and they'd get a 702 hit but it wasn't the right person, just someone with the same name, and that would get added to the "intel". The FBI presented this laundered/assembled mish-mash of illegally obtained "research" and misrepresented as a legitimate intelligence product to the FISA court so they could invent their "insurance policy." That's more or less it.

Also because the special prosecutor's remit into investigating "Muh Russia" was based entirely on illegally assembled and outright false information that was pushed by the FBI, CIA, and DNI as legitimate intelligence products, nothing that follows from that investigation is admissible in court due to the "fruit of the poison tree" rule. We've all heard about the "unmasking" stuff for the last few months. There was no "unmasking". Hell no, they just didn't even bother. They weren't running into Trump official's dealings with bad Russians and then unmasking them. Nope, they were just flat out running NSA database queries on Americans period. The DoJ counter intel group was not under OIG oversight due to a ruling made unilaterally by Sally Yates. For years this group coordinated with top FBI officials to run a program to not just help Hillary Clinton's campaign, although that was a part of it. No, it was to gather blackmail information on political enemies far and wide, and then weaponize it.
