Anyone order one? I am on the ship list for the 3rd. I'll like it is a smaller overall phone but larger screen.

Lucky! I’m at the mercy of my IT group. They approved me to be a “tester” which means I’ll get one out of the first order my company makes but no clue when that will be, I’m a bit annoyed we don’t get special preference as a company.

I've got the 6S Plus, the 8 is just a little tweak upgrade. Nothing to push me over the top to get one.
Thought about switching to a Samsung but I still remember how crappy the Note 4 was. After a year it barely lasted 12 hours on a charge. It was also very clunky and froze up a lot.

For me, the technology doesn't justify the $1,000 cost. I will run my 6s until it dies. My work phone is a 6s as well, that's not eligible for upgrade until the 2 year contract is up.

I am holding out to next year for the X. Right now the technology with the facial recognition worries me as well as no support for the 600Mhz range. They should have that chip in the next model that rolls out from what I am hearing so I wife and I went with the 8+ for now.

I am also on the Apple upgrade program so we get a new phone every year as well as have apple care + for both our phones.

LG V30 is the only phone on the market today that has 600 Mhz technology.

Do you pay extra for the upgrade program? What exactly does that entail?

I have a $229 Motorola phone. It makes phone calls, sends texts, and can take pictures of the kid. I'm happy.

I really couldn't even begin to justify that kind of expense. For you guys that drop crazy dollars on phones, do you use them nonstop?

I ran the numbers and it is basically a wash if you buy your phone outright each model upgrade. I have always bought them so that I did not have contracts but this works out to be right at the same, but I get the apple care for free (basically) after 2 years.

I pay $40 month for each phone (8+ 256GB) at the end of one year you can upgrade to the newest model or keep that phone you currently have. At the end of year two, the phone is paid for and no more payments or you can upgrade then....

yes, and I can log into my office and do some basic maintenance on my servers and databases if needed. I am on-call every 4 weeks for a week at a time and need to have access to wifi at any time, which my phone allows by creating a hotspot.
