Like I said before, I think her neglect is responsible for the death of the child, but I don't think she committed 1st degree murder. I think she's a skanky, whore who needs to suffer a very, very long time for her neglect and serve as an example for other fukup parents.

I think it will take them about 3 and a half hours to discuss some of the contradictory testimony, then about 15 minutes to poll the jury and find her guilty on all counts.
I wish they could sentence her and carry out her execution today too.

I didn't vote in the poll because you can never predict what a jury is going to do. Example: A couple was being tried for aggravated assault; what they did was invite anther man to their house for dinner, they all got drunk, the couple got mad at the guest, and made him stand against the wall while they fired rifle shots around him. Then they took him outside, roped him to the trailer hitch of a truck, and dragged him around the pasture.

Verdict: Simple assault (misdemeanor). The Judge was pissed.

We are plenty sick of it here in Orlando. Local affiliates for the big 3 and Fox have full coverage as well as local stations. We drove through downtown Orlando last night coming back from dinner, I was shocked as we passed teh courthouse. They is vacant land across the street, one square block covered by media trucks. They don't have that much technology here for the bowl games. Makes me sick that the skank is getting all of this attention.

All true. But in trials the Judge is the least important person there...or he/she should be. Jurors are tremendously influenced by what the Judge says, IMO. My job as a lawyer is to minimize the Judge's participation in the case by playing by the rules and by not trying to introduce matters that may be objectionable. If I can take charge of the proceeding by gently assuming that position, then the jury listens to me. But that must be done without challenging the Judge; leave that to the other side.

I haven't been following this case at all, but I have a feeling a lot of people are going to be really pissed when the verdict comes out. Seems most "common sense" trials end up with a crazy outcome.

I was at court when OJ's verdict was reached ( my ex had me in front of the judge for complete BS--he was pissed and she was in hot water )

Seeing the various lawyers both agreeing with the verdict and others completely and totally shocked by it was an eye opener.

Their case sucked balls.

Defenses' closing was AWFUL though. Was going VERY well until the lead attorney got pissed at the prosecution for making faces, made a remark about it, and the judge stopped everything for 20 minutes or so. Then to make matter worse, after he finished, his co-counsel got up and put everyone to sleep.

The prosecution totally fncked this case up. Idiots!

I hate to say this but I think both of you are right, they did not prove shit with their case. She's probably guilty of something that caused the death of the girl, but they didn't prove it to me in anything they said or I have read.
Since she can be convicted of lesser charges I suspect if the jury actually follows the judge's instructions, then she'll get a second degree or manslaughter conviction.
Either way I think she's in jail until she gets way to old for any of us to want to hit.
