Good on you. I had a really good friend that struggled with his weight. Never been a big problem for me but I could see his frustration and distress. Getting harder to keep off as I age but still not a big issue, relatively speaking. I struggle more with alcohol than food but we all seem to have our stuff.

I remember the sixties & seventies and most people being rail thin? I think modern food especially fast food, is a big part of the problem for many.

At one point I was 220, also 6-5. I think I found some of your missing pounds. Now at 280. Sigh. I’d be thrilled at 250.

Your body is storing fat because it's not getting enough food regularly. Try three small meals per day and you will notice a change. I don't drink beer, but had a beer gut for a long time. Well, it's going away little by little and I've noticed I'vehad to tighten my belt more and more each month.

No, your body is storing fat because you are consuming more food (glucose) than your body needs. This causes your insulin to spike, and insulin causes your cells to store excess glucose as fat.

There are lots of reasons why you might plateau doing OMAD, and corresponding ways to fix it; eating more frequently is NOT one of them.

Now, if he'd give up the Kettle of Waste he'd lose more gross tonnage.

Down 8 lbs in 1st 2 weeks. Atkins for the win. After the 1st week, you don't get very hungry anymore. Going for 20, from 210 to 190; 6'3 tall.

269.6 this morning. Down 12 pounds in the past 7 days alone. 55 pounds down now. I haven't been in the 260's since I did marathons in 2004-2006.

LOL, considering I'm down from 325, I feel like a twig. Just tried on 42" jeans (down from 44") and they fit with flying colors, even being freshly washed/dried. Extremely comfortable.

I was watching some reruns of the Drew Carey Show. One of the character's girlfriends was complaining he needed to lose some weight because his pants were a scoche (sp?) too tight. His reply was, "It's not the weight.... it's the scoche."

Good on ya losing that weight. Being healthier, lighter, and more fit means you'll be there for Mrs. Wiz and G that much longer.

I've been running and cycling for several years now, but during the pandemic, I started working weights, stretching, and even yoga (to an extent) into the routine. Runs have gotten faster and longer and I'm hurting a lot less. Heck, even seen ab definition now! My weight is consistent, but the body fat percentage is down and muscle mass is going up.

It's amazing what healthy choices can do for you! Keep up the great work - your loved ones will sure appreciate it too!
