Default Rats

Anyone having issues with rats? I've already trapped and killed 4, one mouse in the garage, and one dead rat by the sidewalk. The wife and I tried to have a small garden with strawberries and Cantaloupe, but were eaten probably at night. The cantaloupe were eaten by hollowing out the guts. I went out there to water the other day, and 4 of the little bastards took off. So I still have 3 more to kill after just getting one of them this afternoon.

I used the TomCat traps that work great. I have more on order. No idea where these little bastards came from. We've been in this house since 2015 and never seen any until this year.

Most of the restaurants and fast food joints are running at minimums if at all. Poor bastards are hungry and reaching out to the 'burbs in search of easy pickings.

Best bait for any rodent trap - a piece of a Butterfinger candy bar glued down with a daub of peanut butter.

Creamy or crunchy- your choice.

I haven't found any rodent that can resist it.

Check to see if your government agencies provide rat control program. In my area the county does. They will put bait boxes and check on them periodically at no cost to the homeowner.

Why in the **** would you call the government to help you with your private property?

Wife feeds the deer corn and the squirrels eat the shit out of it. To include chewing on the deer feeder if there is no corn in it.

=dead squirrels.

Hey man. Whatcha doin?

Oh just waiting.

For what?

I have a rat in my attic.

Ok, so what are you waiting for?

The government to help me get rid of it. I filled out all the forms, provided a copy of my licence and proof that I own the property. They did their initial interview and secondary interview. I was given a ticket number and a proposed date of an on site evaluation. I was told I am scheduled for sometime between today and the next 6-8 weeks, so I'm just hanging out waiting.

Maybe you should get a trap?

I thought about it, but I already paid the investigation fee.

If you are that dependent on the government then you have issues.

This is exactly what is wrong with the country.

The individual should always be bigger than the government.

I pay county taxes and it's a free service they provide through the county health department. Anyone who wants to pay a private exterminator is free to do so.

Never had a problem in 40 years, last year something happen and the area developed a rat problem.

I have no rodents in the house BUT I did notice a rat hole or two by the foundation.

Oh, and here's a little something for you, that is free, no need to hire anyone.

Taxes are not free.

Shit is not free.

AOC Said.. A World Without Police Looks Like The Suburbs - YouTube
As I stated I "PAY" county taxes and rat control is included. It's the FIRST time I used it. I did try to correct myself by baited a rat trap, no luck and buying a baited rat trap with clear top to see if rat ate the bait no luck. So I called the county. I don't mind paying taxes for the rat control, if you do that's your problem.

Don't let the tax tail wag the dog.

Some people call for Roadside Assistance when they have a flat tire.

Because, you know, their insurance is paying for it.
