ZR-1 TV Quiz
So I was watching a re-run of CSI Miami last night and it co-starred what looked to be a 93 or 94 ZR-1. They identified the recorded sound of a get away car using some hokie engine sound to car model software.
The tech says "Its a high revving V8, aluminum block, with dual overhead cams" and he and the blond CSI chick spend the night comparing the sound to different sports cars (they also found some torch red fiberglass at the crime scene.) By now I know they are talking a ZR-1 but can't believe the old ZR-1 is about to make an appearance on a top rated TV Show. They identify the motor sound as a LT5 and proceed to find the bad guy. The car actually makes a brief appearance sporting sawblades. I know the Tony Denoso character in NCIS had a Black '90 ZR-1 that was stolen in an episode and crashed. Does anyone know of a zR-1 making an appearance in any other TV shows or Movies? Somebody said there was a b-movie featuring the ZR-1 back in the day??? |

Nope. Heck, the only actual, in the flesh ZR-1 I have ever seen has been at the museum. I never see them in any shows. Even Nugent's bit he did on Miami Vice didn't include a ZR-1.

WOW, one of the nicest ZR-1's on the planet is out your way. Jerry of jerrysgaskets.com has one with a Lingenfelter body kit and Lingenfelter/South
GA Corvette 415 LT5 in it. Normally ZR-1 folk run 'em vs. show e'm but there area few of out there that "go both ways" Last edited by YorkL8apex; 07-12-2010 at 7:44pm. |
