Gonna be damn cold in SE FL, any advice

Yep, next five days we will have lows in the 50s, warming up to the mid 70s, but I do not see me leaving the house if it gets that cold.

All advice 'may' be appreciated, and yeah, I have winter clothes, just do not know where they are.

This. Also, start breaking up furniture to burn for warmth, and most important....don't let the fire go out. Don't forget to wrap your outdoor faucets and piping, and bring in pets and plants.

We had lows in the high 40's last night here in Central Florida. I still didn't wear long sleeves or a jacket.. Highs will be in the mid 60's, so that's ok for me. 70's back tomorrow..

My heat actually came on a couple of extra times last night. Usually, it only kicks on maybe 3 times, but I counted 6 (couldn't sleep).

My heat came on like 4 am.. Set the heater to 74 degrees..

Believe it or not, I own an infinitie amount of gratitude, maybe dollars, to your town, and its cold weather.

My middle daughter was living in Lakeland, 7 years ago, she decided to get a dog, wanted a pound rescue.
It was January, do not remember the week, it was cold there, she went to the shelter, they advised her they had taken in a lot of dogs in the past two days, as the cold weather increased their activities on the street, they had many new arrivals in the past two days.

She looked them all over, wanted a dog under 20 pounds, saw one she liked, was told it was already spoken for, AND THEN SHE SAW RINGO.
He was an angry SOB, not very friendly, she saw something in him, accepted the challenge, took him home, never had second thoughts, BEST DAMN DECISION SHE HAS MADE IN LIFE!!

I am thankful for many things, near the top of the list is my co-pilot Ringo, he means the world to me, I would not trade him for $BILLIONS$, thank you Lakeland, and your January weather.

For my last two AC system installs, I opted NOT to pay for the heat pumps, which I think was $400 per unit, two units, so $800.
I have never turned on the heat, as the stink in the house is pretty bad for an AC system without the heat pump add-on.
