Two people at the studio have tested positive. I do believe I know one of them, but not confirmed. (Particular person out with a high fever)

Fortunately, I work in the field, so no exposure here...

An influenza (flu) shot is a flu vaccine given with a needle, usually in the arm. Seasonal flu shots protect against the three or four influenza viruses that research suggests may be most common during the upcoming season. The composition of flu vaccines have been updated for the 2020-2021 flu season.

Local media just posted a headline about an "outbreak" at a local hospital.

Holy shit. Get the mobile morgues rolling. This is going to be catastrophic.

At 99.86 survival rate, one of those two people just isn't going to feel whole.

I agree 100%.

I was NOT given z-pack initially. I developed a cough which eventually resulted in green stuff being coughed up. Only then was I given the antibiotic.

It knocked it out, but over a week passed and now it's back. And the blood oxygen levels are dropping all over again. Shortness of breath is starting to present itself.

I am not a doctor, but I'm wondering if I had been given the Z-pack at the start if I would be where I'm at presently.

A coworker/friend has it and his wife may now too. It’s kicking his ass because he already had issues with bronchitis. Another coworker’s friend had it and is now dead. Died from the covid/pneumonia thing.

Be smart, stay safe, *stay home.

That could be a bacterial infection (often resolved quickly if the proper antibiotics are administered early enough), or a viral infection in the case of a flu that causes the infection. Like I said above, the SARS is what actually kills you if you die from the flu.

Correct. The Z-pack, or other antibiotics your Doctor prescribes will not affect the flu virus that is the cause of your infection. However, when your lungs are infected with a flu bug, they will produce pus, which in this case, is a fabulous breeding ground for lots of other infections. The anti-biotics are prescribed on a "prophylactic" basis to try to stop aggravating infections.

Sorry to hear you are still struggling SeaSix. Hang in there!

Holy crappity crap. Yeah, that is serious. Wow man, I really hope you knock the shit out of this mess. You may need IV antibiotics. Real deal stuff.

You need to be in the hospital with IV antibiotic cocktails. The IV stuff is way more powerful and all they can do is throw a mix of antibiotics at it. They can also get a culture from your fleem and see if it grows to see what it really is. If it is Covid. They can give you specific meds and plasma for it.
