Both batteries in my truck decided they wanted to die just as I had to go some place. Everything was fine with no slow starting or symptoms of batteries going bad. Took two hours to find a place that had the batteries, get the old ones out, get the new ones and then replace them. That's a bitch on such a tall truck.

Ehh... it coulda been worse and the batteries were original from 2018 (actually, 2017 when the truck was built and sold as an 18).

My 3 y/o EdgeST has an AGM battery that's crapping the bed, and costs $230.00 at AZ. Can get an Interstate AGM for $10.00 less, whooppieeee.
Add another $15.00 for tax.
All systems shut down due to low battery power.

No shit! Batteries around here are about $200 each, if you can find them.

Last fall, looking at those nutz prices for battinators, I just puked, and then went to the MARINE batt display.....same thing a tad longer than a P24? for 100 bux even.....hell with it, fits fine in the vette......

They wanted $230 each for the 94R batteries I needed. Sam's Club had them in Duracell brand for $130 each before tax. With a 3 year replacement plan that comes with them.... yeah, that's what I bought and they are rated at more CCA than the OEM batteries.

Sudden battery failure is a pretty recent thing to me, in over 40 years of working in the auto industry. They used to give you a warning with slow cranking, sulfur smells, and generally slow degradation. I've had several just outright fail with no warning at all in the past 5 years. And they weren't old at all. The best batteries I ever had were the cheapest: two Wal Mart batteries I bought for $29 each in 2001 and 2002 for both GTO's. One lasted 17 years, the other 16. They don't make 'em the way they used to. And they're 5 times the price now, to boot.

Check your local Interstate store and see if they have blems. It's been a few years, but they were $15 plus core. New, but no warranty and they don't have all groups.

My wife's 2016 Durango has two batteries under the passenger seat, one main and one motorcycle-sized battery for the Auto Start/Stop apparently - cost was close to $300 and only ONE local place had the smaller battery. A PITA to install...
