College Football WEEK 1 Game Day Thread


Our long national nightmare is over. College Football is BACK!!!





After a great appetizer last Saturday with the Nebraska @ Illinois game going down to the wire, we're kicking off the college football season for real with a long 5 day weekend of football games.

The action kicks off tonight (Thursday) with a huge game with Group of 5 New Year's Bowl berth implications: Boise State @ UCF.
Also, National title contender Ohio State begins their season with a tough road game at Minnesota tonight.

Game of the Week: #3 Clemson vs. #5 Georgia

Hell yeah, a week 1 Power 5 vs. Power 5 match-up of Top 5 ranked teams and serious national title contenders. D.J. Uiagalelei takes over for good at QB for Trevor Lawrence. Tough task for him in Week 1 against Kirby Smart and Georgia's loaded Defense. But the more interesting match-up might be the Georgia offense against Clemson's defense. Those 2 units are the question marks for these teams entering the season.

I know that the schedules are typically fixed years in advance, but this is the best first week I've seen in a long time. It will be hard to make anything of it, as the teams will be pretty fresh, but still, great first week.

What the hell is wrong with the forum's code that causes random hyperlinks to be inserted when I type # followed by a number? It doesn't even happen every time, just about half the time. I have to edit every single college football OP after I post it because half of the ranking numbers have some hyperlink inserted around them that I didn't put there.
