Winwood for the win. EC hasn’t done anything relevant since Derek and the Dominos.

I do like what he's done with the Crossroads concerts over the years, bring guitarists and other musicians together, plays to sold out concerts.

Nice catch TB - I’m ashamed to admit I have the album and completely forgot.

At 14 Winwood joined the Spencer Davis Group and at 15 wrote and sang Gimme Some Lovin.

Per Wiki: "While still a pupil at Great Barr School, Winwood was a part of the Birmingham https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blues_rock scene, playing the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hammond_Organ and guitar, backing https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blues and rock legends such as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muddy_Waters, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Lee_Hooker, Howlin' Wolf, B.B. King, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chuck_Berry, and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bo_Diddley on their United Kingdom tours."

His website bio credits him with session work with many A-list Rock, Blues, Soul, and Pop artists.

After Blind Faith, I thought he sold out a bit and went commercial. Didn't blame him though as doubt he made much with Spencer Davis Group at 15 years old, or Traffic for that matter. Even Blind Faith was short lived.

He wrote and performed Can't Find My Way Back Home with Blind Faith. His best work IMO.

At eight years old, he first performed with his father and elder brother Muff in the Ron Atkinson Band. Muff later recalled that when Steve began playing regularly with them in licensed pubs and clubs, the piano had to be turned with its back to the audience to try to hide him, because he was so obviously underage.

In 1980 his solo career took off for the first time with the platinum Arc of a Diver, a virtuoso studio performance on which Winwood wrote all the music and played every instrument on every track.

It’s a great idea well implemented. I just think at this point EC has been largely living on his past accomplishments. Which are formidable.

I don't know.....when you hear "Tears in Heaven" and know its origin, in the right setting, it's pretty heart-wrenching...
