Default I need advice on two things, please....

The first is heated socks: My feet seem to stay cold. I want to buy some heated socks, preferably with rechargeable lithium batteries, but don't want to pay $200-$300. And even the very expensive ones have a battery life of only 4-8 hours. Is there a pair for about $50-$60 that are rechargeable (preferably lithium) that have a decent battery life? All of the ones I read reviews on must have been crap since they're no longer available.

Secondly, I finally have c-Spire internet available in my neighborhood. I've had ATT, which is a POS, and currently have ComCrap, which is a POS run by crooks, ComCrap internet is down for a few hours every day (conveniently spread across 10-60 minute increments), I never get the credit they promise for being down, and football game streaming freezes up constantly.

However, I didn't know that c-Spire fiber optic is so damned expensive: $80/month for internet and $60 for TV, plus taxes, fees, and probably a vasectomy to boot. They do have wireless internet for $60/month, but no one at c-Spire can tell me if its dependable or how fast it is. (ComCast here is 32% below the national average in speed. c-Spire is much faster, but that figure is for fiber optic.)

What would you do? Or in other words, I've get to get rid of ComCrap, but is c-Spire wireless good, and is c-Spre fiber optic worth the price?

Fiber optic is the way to go. Had it in the NH house for a couple of years. And it was relatively cheap.

At the new house, just got fiber installed last week. Supposedly 25Mbps, for $200/month. If I add in the basic TV package, the cost drops to $187/month.

At the old house, I was paying around $150 for phone, TV and Internet.

Current socks are a wool blend. I rarely get my feet wet; I just don't tolerate cold well although it's "only" in the 30s today, which is nothing for you but numbing for me. B the time I go to bed my feet are so sold they don't even warm up by morning.

Can you address the reliability concern of wireless vs. fiber optic? If you like fiber optic that much, then it must be very fast. However, if the speed only enables faster downloads of shows or games, then I have no need for it.

if you have poor circulation, and are not very active, you'll have cold feet no matter what socks you wear.

Just how warm are our Woolpaca Socks? Warm enough to shovel snow without your boots on, we'd say. They're that thick, brawny and insulating. But they'll pamper your feet too, with a mix of premium natural fibers and innovative manmade ones that wick away sweat and cushion hard-working feet. Just what you need to kick winter to the curb!

I agree on the circulation issues potential. You should have your circulation tested. Can be done in a doctors office now.

Once you are checked out. Take up tap dancing or yoga.

My experience with fiber is that it is fast and reliable. We've never experienced an outage that wasn't due to the power going out.

Since I work from home a lot, I need an internet service that is fast and reliable. In addition to my computers attached to the interwebs, we have several other devices also attached, including TVs. Laurie likes to have several TVs on at the same time, eating bandwidth. On a slow internet, that just kills my productivity.

Go for heated insoles instead of heated socks!

Geez, CableOne here offers 150 Mbps/600 GB download per month for $80. I have no idea how much their TV costs because I haven't had that for years. When my DirecTV subscription is up in about 10 months I'll probably pull the plug on and that and go 100% streaming for everything. Even got this bad boy below coming to up my WiFi signal and speed. Also got a 1 Gbps DocSys 3.0 cable modem to replace CableOne's modem since I don't have a land line anymore. Been meaning to get around to it since I cancelled the land line, keep putting it off. No longer. Will save me $8/month.
