Shawn Pilot (youtube) recently picked up a nice '71 LT-1 4 speed 'vette in Los Angeles for $3500. Had it running and burning rubber in a weekend. Not typical, but it can happen. Here where I am, decent C3's with no rust can still be found for realistic money (<30k). The '74 and later rubber bumper smog cars, a lot less.

For as much as you'll have in a C8 you won't want to drive it in the winter.

FWIW: I think the black C8s are AWESOME looking! A guy I know in town got a '23 in "Crystal Red", and although I used to say I was "done" with red Corvettes, I have to say, that is one sharp looking car!

All good advice - but bear in mind, Flex had an auto trans Z, so an auto C8 won't bother him, and he won't be buying a stick shift C7. I'd say go for it, esp. if the C7 auto Z is the same money. I'm just shocked that these things are over $120K. I understand it's CDN money, but still!

Final word from me... on this thread...

I can make my C8 ride like a ****ing Buick electra and a tube frame beast. It's insane what the adjustments are. Would I have bought MT? Yeah, no shit when I don't need to go 40 miles to work any more. Having said that, I know many racers now on the AT's and they are happy.
