Have you tried restarting the router and re-establishing the connection?

How come routers and cable modems don't have freakin' power switches?

Try rebooting your router. If you don't know where the reboot button is, just unplug it from the power cord for about 20 seconds, plug it back in, and give it a couple of minutes to boot back up. The other obvious question to ask is, uh, how far away are you from your router? Has anybody actually set up your wireless connection to be secure? Do you know if it is wireless N or G? |

When you have your laptop out and about, can you connect to wireless hot spots and have no issues? Also, do you have a friend that has the same modem and if so, can you connect to it OK? You need to isolate this problem to your laptop or your modem. |

Do you know anybody that can look at this for you, get into the modem setup and stuffs? You probably need to plug a computer directly into the back of the modem and bring up the modem setup in a browser to see what's going on, basically make sure the wireless settings are correct and match what you have on your laptop for that connection.

What does it do when plugged directly into the modem? That takes the wireless connection out of the equation.
