1. Stuck-up, snooty women who think they are God’s gift to men. With the hundred of e-mails they get from hopeful suitors, they acquire both swelled heads and a wildly unrealistic opinion of their market value in the dating world. Women like this are clearly suffering from what I call Princess Syndrome. A characteristic symptom of the malady is having a stringent laundry list of ‘requirements’ and ’standards’ few men could ever hope to meet.

2. Attention junkies.

3. Gold-diggers. No explanation needed here!

4. Professional daters who, sucked in by the endless choice online dating appears to offer, keep looking for the Bigger, Better Deal. Ad nauseam. Meet a professional dater, and you’ll likely find someone with a serious fear of commitment lurking underneath. The type of woman mentioned in (2) above often fits into this category.

5. Teasers who get off on rejecting men for sport. These women should have a big “L” branded in their foreheads - “L” for “Loser”, of course.

6. Desperate single mothers. If you ever see a profile where a woman says, “My children mean everything to me”, RUN! This is code-speak that means a woman is basically married to her children, and if you get involved with her, you’ll find that you rank dead last. Right down there with Fido, if you’re lucky.

7. Russian/ Eastern European women or women from other foreign countries where poverty and crime is rife. Probably half of these women are allied with fraudsters seeking to fleece lonely men.

8. Drunks, druggies, other assorted psychopaths.

I get 5-10 follow requests a day on Instagram from what are ostensibly 20 something y/o gorgeous women who "just want a good man".

Also, #1 and #4 are basically the same thing. Hypergamy, coupled with the reality that any woman with a functional vagina has zero problems getting laid, distorts their perception of their own value in the marketplace.

local gal we know, she's single, 35, somewhat miserable, and her ideal husband, based on conversations we've had with her, is someone that will just let her stop working and "play". play being loosely defined as doing whatever she wishes all day long while he is busy working and earning money for her to spend on things that delight her.

Beautiful, well educated 37 year old. really nice, generous, classy woman. she ends up with guys who treat her like shit everytime, then wonders why she is unhappy. she makes a great wing woman, but is undatable to good men.

Hmmm...I don't know if that's totally true. Yeah, some of it is accurate, and I've been out with some real award winners, but you can't hide crazy forever. I've also been out with some really nice gals that just weren't my type. I've even remained friends with one or two. And I'm perfectly fine if they're upfront and let me know that I'm not their type either. As Liz would say: "NEXT!!!!"

The smart move is to write a profile that stops the losers from contacting you. I list what I'm looking for, and I'm very clear about what I'm NOT looking for (like kids, ex's and so on) and that any deviation is a deal-breaker. I've gone on a date or two where the woman flat out lied about her looks. I just got up, said excuse me and walked out. Blocked her number and was done as I have no time for liars. I'm also perfectly fine by myself. There's a big difference between being lonely and being alone. Maybe that's why I've been single...by choice...for so long. I don't have plans to marry again, but if I do, that person will have to have a pretty unique DNA strand.

One has to remember that online dating is a microcosm of the real world. There are a lot of nutcases out there, and you have to be good at separating the wheat from the chaff.

Currently? Not seeing anyone except my golf bag and wine fridge. New job is kicking my ass.
