Coming from a slightly different perspective, I see far less GT3s at Cars N Coffee (the largest in my state) than I do C8s. The C8 is quite literally everywhere and they are anything but interesting. It's a base model Corvette for crying out loud. I think GM missed with the ZO6, great engine sure, but not much separating the base from the Z looks wise. In fact, you need to be right up on a ZO6 to even tell if it is one.
The GT3 however...you know what it is...and being a die hard car guy I would check out and prefer the GT3 9 out of 10 times over a C8Z, especially for the 3rd pedal. HUGE foul from GM. The only 1 out of 10 I'd go to the C8Z over the GT3, is if it was modified in some way that made it clearly stand out above the others. In your situation, GT3...as long as it doesn't bother your hip to drive it. |

I think it's most telling that a bunch of guys on a Corvette forum... are saying get the Porsche.
Somehow I don't think the opposite would be true. The other question would be whether AutoX is your primary or secondary factor. (Regardless... the Porsche is still the easy choice if it was me) |

I hate to admit it, BUT I drove a GT3 two years ago at Xtreme Xperience at PBIR.
It was fast, very fast, handled superbly AND the DCT was PERFECTION, always in the power curve and this was in auto mode, as I did not use paddles. I hit 145 in the long straight, which is about 10 MPH more than I hit in a V2 at Cadillac Day. I was laughed at by instructor when I asked the penalty for passing the instructor-driven pace car as the run began. In three laps I had to coast four times as I was ready to pass. I am a Corvette / Caddy guy for 20+ years, BUT would buy a GT3 in a heartbeat if the siutation was right. If I were to purchase I would NOT wear porsche apparel. |

The GT3 will appreciate in value, even while you’re beating the snot out of it…the C8 will lose value just sitting in your garage. Not that that’s a good reason to buy a toy…but it’s something.
