Any AppleWatch owners here?
My mom bought my wife a series 1 for Christmas. Well now I'm envious and ordered one for myself. I couldn't justify the extra $100 for the series 2 just for it having built in GPS and being water proof to 50 meters. Anyone else have one? What are your likes and dislikes? Useful apps?

I don't have one but a friend of mine does. He loves it. I futzed around with it for a bit and found everything was just too small to deal with. In other words I couldn't see shit.

I've had one since they first came out. I still like it. Does what I want. Notifications, quick text responses, etc.
My wife uses hers for activity/exercise tracking as well and likes that. Most of the issues I have are application specific. Some do a poor job with notifications. |

i have had several people in my job and business that own them and they seem to like them, as for me i agree you need to have 20/20 vision because the wording is small

I like mechanical watches. I can't see myself charging a watch every day. If the watch stops, give it a couple shakes, reset the time and you are good to go.

It will continue to function as a watch for 72 hours, even when the battery is "dead". I got the bigger of the two for the reasons mentioned above

I got my wife one for Christmas, she is in love with it. The case is too small for my big arms, but I'm going to get the Fossil smart watch, since I love my LG.
I didn't know if I'd like a smartwatch, but I rarely leave home without it now. |

I have the series 2 and love it. I had a fitbit surge but the tech messaging and phone calls were sketchy. I like the notifications. I don't think the text or other items are too small. I wear glasses and everything looks great. I like being on my wifi at home and not dragging the phone around. Was in the garage the other day and got a phone call, just answered from the watch. I can go all around our property, 2 acres, and not worry about carrying the phone. My watch stays connected the entire property.
I also use the Apple Airport extreme and airport express for my wifi. The initial bands I got with the watch I didn't really care for. I bought a few off of Amazon and found some very comfortable bands for 1/10th the price of Apple or Best Buy pricing. |

I've had one over a year now. It is as useless today as it appeared to be the day I got it. It was a gift from my wife, so I wear it to keep from getting my ass beat. IMO, it's one of the best examples of technology that is completely unnecessary to human existence.
