Remember the eagle cam?

The one in Decorah, Iowa, that showed a bald eagle hatching her eggs back in April. I posted a link to it then, and over 153 million people have viewed it; on any day, 20,000-30,000 people are watching. The nest is located in a Sycamore tree 80' off the ground; the nest is 6' deep and 6' feet across and weighs a ton.

Well, today one of the 3 eaglets had its maiden flight. All 3 eaglets were doing what is called "branching"--hopping from branch to branch before flying. Once an eaglet flies, it may or may not return to the nest; however, it usually stays close by for a while and tries to get an handout of food from its parents.

One of the eaglets will be captured and fitted with a solar-powered transmitter so that its whereabouts can be determined for years. It's not unusual for eagles to fly several States away.

That one worked. Looks just like the other one, which had a different 30 second ad, but this one worked.
