I had an old muscle car. restored it, expensive paint, etc. got new wheel tire kit from a local shop. they used the wrong type of washers under the lugs and after about 100 miles they were working their way loose. one came off while I was doing about 70 on the highway. it flew across the road and bashed a honda. the musclecar had stock drum brakes all around. when the wheel went flying off, the car landed on a drum and I was able to calmly pull it onto the shoulder. no way I could have done that with a new car and disks, it would have crumbled.

I knew a guy that bought 68 L88 vette. One Fri night while showing off he hit 2 parked cars and totaled the vette. My brother bought the motor and transmission from the guy for $1000 and put it in a 69 Nova.
