It's been a rough day. Tonight is going to be worse. Everything about my arrival at home is going to be missing. The "hello" barking, the greeting at the door, the tail wagging and talking to me while I go through the mail, the wait at the bowl for food. All of it... gone. Play time, bed time...I hate this pain. I wish I could say "It's just a dog" but it's not. He was my buddy.

All of you give your pets an extra hug tonight.

They're never just dogs or pets, they are huge parts of our families and losing them is very difficult. Hang tough, it will get better!

Always at least you got to keep yours for a bit. I will lose my buddy in the divorce, and will most likely not be able to spend time with him. He will be two in October

You have no idea how rehabilitating it was to have him around. He was my "go to" when things were wearing me down. I could tussle with him and we'd play fight and it was just us and not another thing in the world.

I picked up his ashes and plaster cast paw print last night. Very sad.

It's time to move forward. This weekend I'll put his bed and bowls and toys away.
