I understand that but parents face an ARMY of people potentially working against them, for more hours of the day, and with an inability for the kids to push back.

In the words of UD, " I have no dog in the fight" since I have no kids in school. What I do have is anger regarding the school system basically from top to bottom. I'm tired of hearing bullshit about masks, and CRT, and components of the curriculum that have far less to do with education and far more to do with indoctrination. If it takes and Army of Karens to confront an army of educators, then so be it. I'll be in the Karen camp.

Stupid shit like test questions that ask: "If Donald Trump tells 10 lies in a week, how many lies will he tell in a year?"

You’re. Fighting a lot of issues. To make a class camera visible there are a slew of “privacy” and “approvals” needed by all to be on camera yet alone the vetting of who is allowed to watch in order to make the riff raff can’t just jump in for their personal pleasure. Effectively it will be a live broadcast where even the actors union could get involved if one little girl ever went to a beauty pageant

Somehow they manage to only let a parent pick up a child at school or a designated alternate with proper ID, but we just haven't got the smarts to figure out how to only let certain people log in to a school system. We have cameras...and I'm not a formative child trying to navigate my way through formative years.

Our feed is not available to anyone without a log in and password. I have no idea how they manage that since it seems everyone believes the school feeds will be on the jumbotron in every stadium.

If there is reason to sue on video recordings, then there should be a lawsuit. Maybe if the schools or parents lost a few lawsuits they'd get their shit together.

Little Johnny gets hit but no one saw it so it so it's his word vs the teacher or other student? Is that a better solution?

If my kid got punched I'd want to be saying hey, look at the footage from 1:15 in room 211. Bam ! There it is. If he was accused of punching someone and it never happened or someone else did it...there it is.

o.k, I work in Acedemia. The local county school district takes up about half of the campus during the day with classes for HS kids.

Have you seen how much money the school districts don't have to spread around? Hell, it took them 6 weeks to get funding approved for ten 15' patch cables for their own switches/patch panels. That's insane and it was due to budgeting.

where do you think these cameras would come from? Not like they are going to real in salaries of over paid indoctrinators. Guess who get sto pay for it.... you via property taxes even if you don't have kids in school...or even have kids.

I know a few teachers so yes, I'm aware of the funding issues. Somehow we find funding for NATO, funding for the UN, funding to send fkn weapons to the Ukraine, funding to build a fake White House so Joe can pretend he's there, funding for research into the force a toilet seat exerts on the toilet bowl when it slams down, but where kids and elderly are concerned..."Uh-oh, sorry, we're out of money". My taxes paid for all the shit we left in Afghanistan. Tell me where that money would have been better spent.


Where there is a will there is a way. Every prison has cameras and I don't give two shits if prisoners all kill each other...but look how they are monitored and protected.

So for those keeping score...

Dogs > prisoners > kids

There is benefit to watching both. If I had kids in school and I saw them goofing off instead of paying attention, I'd nip it in the bud as opposed to waiting for a report card or parent/teacher conference when it's too late.

They'd know I have my eye on them (whether I do or not) and would act accordingly. I think the end result would be better behaved kids with better grades.
