That was a 9.0 - the shaking lasted for over 2 minutes.

That's some scary shit right there.

When me and my wife was in California back in July of this year there was a earth quake about 150 mile N.E. of LA. We were south of LA in Garden Grove. I was setting in the rented SUV in a parking lot waiting on my wife. Blue sky no wind then the SUV started to rock back an forth for about 5 min. Then the next day the hotel shook for several minutes. It was aftershocks but it still was some what nerving.

After that video started, I am thinking my ass would not be sitting there filming. I would be getting out. Then I saw the Tsunami and thought I would be going to the roof. Glad I did not see bodies going by. I sure there were some.

The last time I was in Okinawa, there was a small (4.something) quake. I was sort of in a bar drinking and didn't notice. I was informed about it when I got back to where I was staying. Fairly certain I would have noticed that regardless of how much Orion I had poured back...

That was the 9.0 earthquake that took out the Fukushima-Daiichi reactor.

As a point of clarification the earthquake didn’t damage the plant or reactors. The earthquake knocked out all power in the area, and the tsunami flooded the plant’s emergency diesel generators. That’s what caused the reactor damage.

I’ve been on the coast north of the plant where the tsunami wiped several towns off the map and killed over 15,000 people. It’s amazing to see and incredibly sad that nobody remembers how many were killed by the flooding while nobody was hurt by the melted reactors.

Nasty earthquake. The video shows where off the coast the quake started.
