Default Motorcycle enthusiasts step inside
As I sat around yesterday tinkering with one of my old ironhead Sportster's, I was casually wondering how fast one had ever gone. To my surprise, 265 mph, piloted by a dude named Cal Rayborn II in 1970. This guy was a racer's racer if there ever was one. His career (and life) was cut short by an on track accident, but this guy was bad ass. The read is pretty short and worthwhile.

Wonder how he got a seat custom made to fit the mega balls it would take to go that fast, with the available tech at the time.

My Sportster's clutches. Someone in its 40 some years on earth beat the hell out of the clutch hub retaining nut, but it was tight, and I don't have a replacement, so it stayed.
